What’s New in Nosto: Shoppable Instagram

We’re delighted to unveil the latest addition to our Commerce Experience Platform: Shoppable Instagram. Let’s take a look at the newest module of our personalization suite. 

What exactly is Shoppable Instagram?

Our new Shoppable Instagram module lets brands repurpose Instagram (IG) content to be featured across their online stores and made ‘shoppable’ (in other words, can be tagged with products that shoppers can click through to in streamlining their paths-to-purcahse). Shoppable Instagram lets brands pull from the visuals they’re tagged in on IG, are mentioned in, as well as those they’ve posted themselves.

Of course, we’ve made Shoppable Instagram do what we do best: personalization. This means you can set up your widgets, galleries (and versions of) to show to different shoppers based on their on-site behavior and preferences. You can also A/B test your campaigns and sharpen these for optimal performance. Meanwhile, the content can adapt in real-time, like when you gather more on-site behavioral data as customers browse, or if products become out-of-stock and no longer want highlighting.

Anyway, we aren’t just here just to brag about the clever things Shoppable Instagram does (more on those over this way). Instead, we’ll move onto the why. 

Why has Nosto brought this to market?

Today’s social-first, creator economy has blown up at breakneck pace. So many brands have an abundance of user-generated content (UGC) they could be harnessing to drive discovery, boost sales, grow loyalty (and more)—all without breaking the bank.

As with Nosto’s Visual UGC powered by Stackla, Shoppable Instagram supports marketers in this shift from brand-centric strategies to customer-centric strategies by making their user experiences more relevant and authentic, just as customers demand.

We also knew that our existing Commerce Experience offering (think A/B Testing & Optimization, Segmentation & Analytics, content rules for widgets) armed us with the toolset to make a Shoppable-Instagram-type product that is especially sophisticated. Honestly, we can’t wait to see what our clients do with this.

Lastly, Shoppable Instagram was born out of our own clients’ pain points. We hear the battles they face, such as balancing the need to refresh product content with the time and cost this demands, and to define content manually, instead of linking it dynamically and automatically. Repurposing IG content across your website (as with Shoppable Instagram) isn’t only efficient, but is a much more cost-effective way to keep your content fresh (meaning more revenue).
