DocsCorp Releases a Major Update to cleanDocs

via docscorp.com

Bailador portfolio company DocsCorp has announced a major update to cleanDocs, our metadata cleaning tool. cleanDocs 2.0 is the next generation in data leak prevention software, combining metadata cleaning and email recipient checking in a single product. Users can now be confident that private information is going to the right person and that it contains no harmful metadata.

cleanDocs 2.0 for Australia’s Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) Scheme

From February 2018, Australian companies will be lawfully required to report eligible data breaches to data subjects and regulators – including the OAIC. A data breach occurs when personal information held by an organization is subjected to unauthorized access or disclosure, including when personal information is mistakenly provided to the wrong person. The new recipient checking function in cleanDocs 2.0 can prevent emails being sent to the wrong party unintentionally and reduce the likelihood of a data breach.

Right information, right person

cleanDocs 2.0 integrates with Microsoft Outlook to check emails before they are sent externally. In a single step, cleanDocs identifies potential issues within the list of recipients – like public and generic domains – and color-codes them according to risk level. On a single screen with minimal clicks and interruptions, the sender confirms that each addressee is an intended recipient before the email is sent. From here the user can clean potentially harmful metadata from attachments, convert them to PDF and compress them to reduce file size. The ability to do all this in one application is unique to cleanDocs. Organizations have only one Outlook add-in to deploy, which is a boon for Systems Administrators.

Product Manager for cleanDocs Assaph Mehr explained that "The majority of data breaches are caused by human error rather than hacking or malicious activity. We have all experienced sending an email to the wrong person at some point and inadvertently disclosing confidential information in document metadata is just as easy to do. With its new functionality cleanDocs enables senders to verify exactly what information is being sent out and works to prevent data breaches".

DocsCorp President and Co-Founder, Dean Sappey, said cleanDocs "builds on our innovative technology and lightning-fast processing when it comes to data and information management. We made sure that all the information is presented to the user at the point when they need to make a decision, minimizing disruption to their workflow. Since this functionality is part of cleanDocs, it means fewer installers and fewer vendors for Administrators to deal with".

cleanDocs 2.0 includes Configuration Manager – a tool that allows Administrators to control all cleanDocs settings and policies. It also includes Zip on Send, so users can compress attachments into a single archive file in Outlook. To purchase or upgrade to cleanDocs 2.0 please contact sales@docscorp.com.
