Two weeks ago, just in time for the big rush of holiday shoppers, Checkfront released our new gift certificates add-on. We’ve been amazed how many of you have already jumped in and started using this new feature, but for those of you who haven’t had a chance yet, here’s a quick intro:
Checkfront’s Gift Certificate add-on lets you offer customers redeemable gift certificates that can be applied towards the value of a future booking with your business. These gift certificates are fully customizable, allowing you to set the value and determine the period of validity. What’s more, a gift certificate can be used more than once. So, if a customer has a $100 gift certificate, but their booking is only $50, they will still have $50 left to spend at a later date!
There are two ways to put gift certificates in your customer’s hands:
If you’ve previously shied away from gift certificates because of the work involved in tracking, it’s time to reconsider. According to the National Retail Federation, more than 73% of us will buy at least one gift card this holiday season. They’re great for generating revenue in the off-season, widening your customer base to those who receive them, and as a bonus, with redemption rates rarely hitting 100%, gift certificates can be a high margin revenue stream.
Barely two weeks in, we’ve already seen more than 400 gift certificate items created. Keep them coming!
